How much money can I save with bathtub resurface compared to replacing with a new one?

Refinishing your bathtub will save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars over bathtub replacement. While a brand new bathtub may only cost $350, there can often be several other costs associated with a tub replacement. Often a replacement also requires removal and disposal of the old tub cost, plumbing, and tile work. According to homeadvisor.com the national-average to replace a bathtub is $ 3251, while bathtub refinishing, with Bathroom Surface Solutions starts as low as $ 400.

What kind of material can you resurface?

Our resurfacing method works on most any material used in today’s bathtubs, sinks and counters. This includes: acrylic, fiberglass, enameled cast iron, porcelain, cultured marble and European steel enamel. For counters our refinishing process works on a variety of countertop surfaces, including laminates, Formica, tile, and cultured marble.

How long does a refinished bathtub and tile surround last?

The durability of a refinished bathtub is much the same as a brand new bathtub. With proper care, our refinishing method can extend the useful life of fixtures for 20-years or more. Your Bathroom Surface Solutions technician will instruct you on the simple and easy care of your like-new tub. Our multi-coat rejuvenation process creates a material bond between old and new surfaces that result in a long-time durable refinished surface.

Does it cost to get a custom estimate?

Bathroom Surface Solutions will come to your house, survey your particular needs and give you a fair estimate. There is no cost for this service.

How long will it take to refinish my bathtub?

About a day. Typically, our refinishing technician will spend about 6-hours on-site to resurface a bathtub. Your bathtub will be ready-for-use after 12-hours, depending on room temperature and humidity.

Is your work guaranteed?

Every project that we do is warranted for 10-years. Our 100% product satisfaction-guarantee covers of any defects in workmanship or materials throughout the life of the warranty. With more than 30-years of experience in bathroom fixture surface refinishing, we do the job right and stand behind the job we do.

Will my refinished bathtub look like it has been painted?

Your bathtub will not look like it was painted. The high-gloss surface of a Bathroom Surface Solutions refinished bathtub resembles new porcelain. The material that we use to rejuvenate a tub is a series of multi-layered coatings similar to the construction of a new tub. Our technicians pride themselves on the fact that it is very hard for an untrained eye to tell the difference between a brand new bathtub and one that has been refinished by Bathroom Surface Solutions.

Will my refinished bathtub have a smell to it?

Our refinishing topcoats do contain solvents, which are necessary to make the final-product hard and durable, while uncured it smells like fresh-paint. When working in your space, our technicians use a ventilation system to expunge fumes from the work area. Although you may notice a slight odor after we are finished, this smell usually dissipates after the first 5-hours and just smells fresh and clean after a day.

Will there be a mess?

Resurfacing your tub is a construction project, during the process there will be some dust and construction material in the work area. Please be prepared to clean any rooms in which we worked to remove sanding dust that may have settled. Bathroom Solutions is not responsible for post project cleaning.

What do I need to do the day you arrive?

To enable us to work safely and efficiently, we ask that you remove all personal belongings from the bathroom before our refinisher arrives. Once you let us in, we’ll take it from there. And, of course you should be available look over our work when we’re done.

How do I care for and clean my refinished bathtub?

Refinished bathtubs are often easier to clean than the original product. You only need to use mild, non-abrasive cleaning product. The same as with a new bathtub, the refinished surface or shine can be dulled by abrasive cleaners.

Note: When the refinishing process is completed, our spray technician will give you a small-tube of adhesive caulking. It is important that tub or sink seams are caulked before the fixture is used. If you are not comfortable or able to do this, our technician can schedule a time to return. There is a small fee for this service.

What other surfaces can be refinished?

Along with most any fiberglass or porcelain bathtub, Bathroom Surface Solutions is able to rejuvenate a wide variety of fixtures. These include: surrounding tile, sinks, countertops and vanities. We will gladly provide a free estimate.
